Earlier today, a rumor surfaced on the web regarding the upcoming video games to be made for the upcoming movie The Hobbit. First broke on Twitter, internet rumor hunter @Supererogatory tweeted out this:
As to what Monolith/WB Games Seattle is up to now—pretty sure it is a little fantasy action RPG-lite called The Hobbit: Part One.

Gaming news site Joystiq wrote up an article regarding this as well, based off the tweet. Monolith Productions would not be a reach, considering WB owns the rights for the franchise, and Monolith is a company owned by WB Games. One would also assume that if they did the game based on Part One in the two part movie series, you could likely assume they will handle Part Two as well.
Stay tuned as more information is available. Again, this is just a rumor, but a pretty plausible one!

Haha, something about the word “RPG-lite” makes me smile.
I haven’t played a movie game in years (for obvious reasons), but it’ll still be interesting to see how they handle it.
