News from Wellington is coming thick and fast just now.  Yesterday we heard of the premiere date, today there’s news from the studio itself with Peter Jackson’s latest video blog from the set of The Hobbit.  This time the video takes us on  a studio tour.  It really gives a wonderful feel for the place and is full of fascinating stuff.

Barrel-rides… first movie then? o.0 or is he just tricking us….
Also.. THAT ENDING. YES.
No trick, the barrel rides will be in the first film. (YAY)
I am screaming with joy in my head as opposed to aloud, because I don’t want confused and concerned neighbors to try to ‘rescue’ me unless it’s necessary. :3
Now that I’ve watched the video several times over, let me share some of my notes.
1. Ok, is it just me, or did I hear ‘Flight of the Conchords’ TV show theme playing in the background?? Anyone concur?
2. Don’t know if you all noticed but JAMES NESBITT has a NZ flag hanging in his trailer!! Great minds think alike, James!
3. Um, yeah. Luke Evans makes me want to own a black leather jacket and cop sunglasses.
4. Anyone else notice Alan and John in COSTUME?!
5. I now want a barrel I can zoom down the street in.
6. LOVED the end. When’s THAT film coming out??
7. Last but not least: I’m hoping the final production video has Howard Shore and some soundtrack amazingness in it….
I hope we get to see Howard Shore, too! I remember the Unit Production Manager mentioning a plane for Howard Shore. Maybe that’s an allusion to things yet to come?
Each of the movie blog updates gets me more and more excited!

Did the lighting technician say that if he dropped something he had to buy two dozen beer?
So many fat suits. Many more than just Billy Connolly (Dwain) could possibly need.
I would love to see a film with Kiran as Legolas, awesome!
I only wish Ted Nasmith could be one of the artists.
