Thirty years ago, a teenage boy was scribbling in Quenya notebooks, the thought never occurring to him that he might one day have an “Elvish” daughter. Though her language of choice is Doriathrin-Sindarin instead of Quenya, that daughter is just approaching her tweens and fighting her way to Arda with passion. Her primary study has always been Elves, their state of being (both fëa and hröa) and their speech, but there is always space in her heart for the rest of Tolkien’s secondary world.
